Meet Alan Whyte

B.A., M.A., Counselling (credentials)

No, that’s not me! That’s my buddy, Cooper!

He was a rescue found wandering the streets of Los Angeles. Over the years we’ve had him, he’s become the best listener in the world, except when it comes to not barking at other dogs!

My wife and I enjoy the company of our two grown daughters, one son-in-law and two awesome grandkids that have way more energy than I have. Oh, to be young again!

I am an experienced Certified Professional Counsellor (Professional Associational of Christian Counsellors & Psychotherapists) My practice, based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, is centered around helping you find hope in difficult circumstances. Allow me the privilege of walking the journey of discovering who God created you to be and uncovering some of the “why’s” to your questions.

Areas of Practice

Mental Health & Addictions

Mental health concerns can include bi-polar, anxiety disorders, depression, stress, and a variety of other challenges. Alan works together with clients facing substance abuse or addiction (either personally or in the life of a loved one) to find clarity and support.

Family & Marriage

Sometimes it can help to have an insightful perspective when it comes to relational concerns. Including pre-marital counselling, couple’s therapy, and family counselling, Alan is equipped to address many relationship issues and family difficulties utilizing Levels 1 and 2 of Gottman's Couples Therapy where appropriate.

Men’s Issues

Having the right supports in place is crucial for building new habits and breaking old ones. Men’s issues are often confusing and frustrating, and getting the right help can make a difference. Approaching the process with respect and care, Alan helps guide clients in finding solutions to their concerns.

Grief & Loss

Every loss is unique, and feeling cared for and supported through grief helps us move towards healing. Meeting each individual case with gentle and thoughtful counselling, Alan walks with clients who are experiencing grief and loss to find that they are not alone in the pain of bereavement.
